Chief Guest R. Selvi, Scientist G and GM, shared her journey from a remote village to becoming a leading scientist, emphasizing the pivotal role her school teachers played in her success. She urged women to be Assertive, Bold, and Committed (ABC) to break societal barriers and excel in their careers.
Guest of Honor Suman Valke, Scientist G (Retd), ISRO, encouraged women academicians to collaborate with ISRO to establish space experimentation labs in their institutions. Suma Sampath, an avid marathon runner, highlighted the importance of fitness and winning habits in enhancing overall success.
The day also featured two insightful panel discussions. The first, Supporting Women Entrepreneurship, moderated by fintech guru Prasanna Lohar, emphasized the need for awareness of schemes and a shift in mindsets to foster successful entrepreneurial journeys. The second, Well-being of Women in High-Stress Careers, moderated by career master coach Gowri Ramani, focused on developing self-awareness and negotiation skills to address personal needs. The session provided lucid explanations on swasthya (health) and arogya (well-being) by Madhu Malay and their relationship with stress.
The event concluded with the felicitation of outstanding women leaders in academia, reaffirming the commitment to empowering women in education and beyond.
