Government Institute of Textile Technology (GITT), Bangalore was established in 1976 by Government of Karnataka, bifurcating it from Govt. S.K.S.J.T.I this is one of the premier government institute, which offers three year diploma course in Textile Technology. The Institute provides excellent environment for studies, well equipped with laboratory, computerized design lab, Library and well qualified faculty and staff members. This Institute produced large number of Textile Technocrats placed in various capacities in different Textile Industry in Karnataka, over India and Abroad. The Institute also offers short term job oriented training programmes in garment and apperal designs under Center for Continuing Technical Education (Sub center) Karnataka (CCTEK). Sub center Institute also well supported by Alumni Association of the Institute. The institute's infrastructure is modern with well equipped facilities. A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to the students in various departments of the college.
